Bloodborne is another underrated gem left to collect dust and cobwebs underneath the basement of Sony Interactive Entertainment. The Soulslike title was a massive hit during the PlayStation 4 cycle and the gaming community would love to see the game as a next-gen remaster.

Unfortunately, Sony has been too blind to its potential and decided not to push forward with a sequel or a next-gen remaster for reasons unknown. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki loved working on the project, however, FromSoftware does not have any pull in this regard and fans are disappointed.

FromSoftware has cracked the code to develop the perfect Soulslike game and each project served as a stepping stone to perfection. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki holds Bloodborne in high regard and would have loved to see the franchise expand through a sequel, unfortunately, Sony owns the IP.

Despite being a few years older and more recent entries to the Soulslike franchise available in the market, the gaming community still talks about the classic game which is a testament to its quality. The game stood well against the test of time and most content creators are doing their part to convince Sony to give the game the same treatment as other first-party franchises.

Kai Cenat is an American content creator and a late bloomer in this gaming genre. Cenat started featuring Soulslike games like Elden Ring a few months ago in preparation for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and despite the emotional and mental pain he had gone through in his marathon streams, Cenat claimed that Elden Ring is his favorite game of all time and will treasure the experience.

Content creators like Cenat have earned their voice on their platform and he could rattle enough cages and force Sony’s hand to give the gaming community what they want. There is no reason to deny a beloved franchise a sequel, especially if it is a simple remaster for next-generation hardware.

There Could Be Hope for a Bloodborne Remaster for the PlayStation 5 and PC

Other important figures within Sony could give the franchise the remaster it deserves. Hermen Hulst and Hideaki Nishino have been appointed as the new CEOs of PlayStation and Nishino revealed he is a big fan of the game. Perhaps under the new leadership, necessary changes will be made about how the company evaluates the gaming community’s wants and needs.

Cenat and Nishino could end up as the saviors of the beloved Soulslike game and give it the same luxury as other first-party games. Most first-party games have been remastered and even remade for the PS5 and it raised some eyebrows as to why this particular project is not given the same treatment.

Perhaps Sony is doing its best to avoid the Soulslike genre knowing it was a collaboration between them and FromSoftware and could not afford another project to share the success. Regardless, the fans have spoken and will not rest until a remaster has been greenlit.
