The janitor wowed the judges and audience with a rendition of Michael Bolton’s “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You.”
America’s Got Talent season 19 is officially in the live show phase, and Richard Goodall is making an impression on the judges and viewers alike.
Folks first met the janitor when he auditioned in the season 19 premiere episode of AGT back in May, where judge Heidi Klum gave him a Golden Buzzer for his rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Well, Richard left everyone in awe once again when he appeared on the August 13 episode and sang a soulful version of Michael Bolton’s “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You.”
Although Richard’s nerves definitely showed at points in the performance, the judges (Heidi, Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara and Howie Mandel) and the audience couldn’t help but give him a standing ovation at the end of his song. What’s more, Simon voiced how impressed he was with Richard and his potential journey throughout the season.

“Well, Richard, do you now start believing in yourself? Because I really hope so,” Simon said in a clip posted on YouTube. “I think you’re one of the most memorable contestants we’ve had for a long, long time … You nailed it, and there’s somewhere to go. And if you make it through, you really do have a shot winning this whole competition.”
“God bless! Rooting for Richard Goodall to win the whole thing,” one person wrote. “A slow song straight from the heart. What an amazing voice. He is showing his range. Looks like this guy can sing anything,” another remarked. “He not only sings well but he puts all his emotion into it, he is incredible. He deserves to win,” a different follower added.
