The best Soulslike game might not be Elden Ring, after all.
Elden Ring is a title that has been central to many conversations in the video game industry. Virtually every faction in the community, from gamers and streamers to critics, loved the game’s first significant expansion.
However, despite the title being incredibly relevant, fans still think that there is another title from FromSoftware that is considered the studio’s best creation to date.

The latest FromSoftware game has been hailed as one of the best expansions for any video game; it was in the same league as Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty and Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine expansions.
Many players even expressed that the sheer amount of playable content added to the title by the expansion is extraordinary. But, despite all of the popularity and acclaim, it seems like people haven’t forgotten the studio’s magnum opus:

While gamers have every right to express their thoughts and opinions about these games, the artist also has a say about which of their works is the magnum opus.

It is no secret that both titles are phenomenal, with an incredible following. While they are very different, they share the same DNA, making them enjoyable for Souls game fans.
However, it seems like even after the success of both of these titles and his studio as a whole, Hidetaka Miyazaki’s quest for his ideal fantasy RPG hasn’t ended yet.
The video game director said this to PC Gamer in an exclusive interview:
Back when doing interviews about Elden Ring…I mentioned that I’m still in the process of making my ideal fantasy RPG. And while Elden Ring is not quite it, it’s pretty close.
