In an impressive gameplay feat, one skilled Elden Ring player has managed to take down Shadow of the Erdtree’s Promised Consort Radahn with one blow. Elden Ring was already a smashing success when it first launched back in 2022, and FromSoftware recently gave fans more of what they loved in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Released in June, the Elden Ring expansion added new lore, equipment, and spells for players to discover, along with plenty of punishing new enemies to encounter.
The most noteworthy of these new foes is undoubtedly Promised Consort Radahn, the final boss that players can challenge at the end of Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Just like Malenia, Blade of Miquella, defeating Radahn has become something of a rite of passage among Elden Ring players, who have shared their stories of challenging this armored warrior across social media – with many attempts ending in crushing defeat. Even Let Me Solo Her, the renowned Elden Ring player famous for taking down Malenia no less than 2,000 times, only just recently bested Radahn after 74 tries.

Now, Ainrun, an Elden Ring player familiar to many fans on both Twitter and Twitch, has uncovered the secret to taking down Shadow of the Erdtree’s final boss in a single hit. Before entering Promised Consort Radahn’s area for the boss battle, Ainrun powered up his Tarnished with every status buff available in Elden Ring, including those added in Shadow of the Erdtree. This allowed him to inflict roughly 93,000 damage to Radahn in a single hit, depleting both the boss’s health bars with one thrust of his sword. However, the penalties of the buffs that Ainrun used resulted in his character dying almost immediately after Radahn was defeated.
Elden Ring Player Uses Every Buff To Take Down Radahn
This doesn’t take away from Ainrun’s remarkable achievement in defeating Promised Consort Radahn, which is no small feat given Elden Ring’s earned reputation for punishing boss battles. Shadow of the Erdtree has proven to be even more challenging for players, with some complaining that the DLC might be too difficult – even for a FromSoftware title.
Other Elden Ring players have already uncovered special strategies for beating Shadow of the Erdtree’s final boss, such as exploiting Promised Consort Radahn’s apparent weakness to Hefty Rot Pots. Meanwhile, Ainrun has managed to take down Radahn in his own unique way, using Elden Ring’s many status boosts to charge his attacks enough to vanquish the boss in a single blow. Part of the appeal of Elden Ring is seeing the methods other gamers use to defeat its many difficult enemies, and this trend of curious kills will likely continue as more players check out the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
