Breaking News: Rapper Da LES suffers stroke on his birthday

Johannesburg rapper Da LES – real name Lesly Mampe – has been hospitalised after suffering a stroke, coincidentally on his 39th birthday.

The hitmaker – nicknamed the “North God” – is known for his annual All White house party at his Bryanston mansion.

DA LES SUFFERS STROKE

In a statement by is PR firm, it was revealed that Da LES had suffered a stroke on Friday, 26 July – his 39th birthday.

The incident took place at his Bryanston home, the venue of all his starstudded All White pool parties.

The statement read: “Whilst he is in a stable condition, this remains a challenging time for his loved ones. The family calls on the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult period”.

On Instagram, a post shared on Saturday alerted the public to the cancellation of Da LES’s birthday celebration, which was set to take place at Louis nightclub in Rosebank.

BABY MAMA SHOWS LOVE

Meanwhile, Da LES’s baby mama, Aurea Alexander, posted a picture of their family, including two children, on her Instagram Story. She added a “praying hand” emoji.

It’s unclear if the couple are still together.

According to industry insiders, LES and the late rapper AKA briefly ended their friendship after the latter was reportedly linked to Alexander.

In 2020, rumours of a rift were intensified after Da LES released his single Gucci Snakes, which boasted the lyrics: “N***as try to bite your soul just to take your place. Try to f*** your baby mama to see how it tastes”.

Neither AKA nor Alexander addressed the claims. LES later appeared on Lasizwe’s YouTube show Drink or Tell The Truth in 2021, where he claimed the song was never about his ex-bestie.

He told Lasizwe: “I am glad you asked me this question. Number one; that track was never about AKA, and that’s on period. Number two, don’t believe everything that people say. And number three, I love my family with all my heart so I just decided to choose a path of family and I got a new kid on the way.

ROASTED OVER WEIGHT GAIN, ALL WHITE PARTIES

In April, Da LES was one of the celebrity guests at the Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini.

And just like the rest of the stars, the Bryanston rapper felt the flames with quips from the panel.

The father-of-three was roasted over his weight gain, lack of music, baby mama drama as well as his interesting sense of style.

LES also caught shade over his annual All White bash, which was likened to that of P Diddy’s “sex parties.”
