Apple Music‘s 100 Best Albums list has ignited debate in earnest. From the titles selected to their order to the omissions, the tally has the masses talking with volume.
And while Lauryn Hill‘s ‘Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ may rank as the streamer’s pick for Best Album of All-Time, releases from both Beyonce and Amy Winehouse have also earned esteemed honors.
Like Rolling Stone, with their updated Greatest 500 Albums List, Queen Bey’s ‘Lemonade’ and Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black’ are listed as the top female albums of this century. [Note: Hill’s album was released in 1998]
On the Apple Music tally, 2016’s ‘Lemonade’ – home to ‘Formation’ and ‘Daddy Lessons’ – places at #10.
Elsewhere, Winehouse’s 2006 album ‘Back to Black’ ranks at #8.
Needless to say, the list continues to drum up much debate.
For, while there’s no doubt about the impact of these releases, there are questions about the whereabouts of other notable female offerings – not just in the top 10 but in the list overall.
Case in point, albums from the likes of Christina Aguilera, Brandy, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Adele, and Katy Perry (pictured above).
