A release date is on the board for Minions 3 with the Despicable Me franchise proving to still be popular with fans. The third Minions film getting its release date comes shortly after Despicable Me 4 had a strong opening at the box office.
Per Deadline, the sequel Minions 3 has been dated for a release in theaters on Wednesday, June 30, 2027. Just recently, the franchise film Despicable Me 4 debuted in theaters on July 3, and it has since earned $255 million worldwide. Collectively, the franchise as a whole, counting the Despicable Me and Minions movies, has earned nearly $5 billion.
After the recent release of The Rise Of Gru, villains like Vector stood out amongst the other antagonists or antiheroes in the Minions franchise.
Pierre Coffin Is Directing Minions 3
The next Minions movie will be helmed by a franchise veteran. Minions 3 will be directed by Pierre Coffin, the voice of the Minions who has also been behind the first three Despicable Me movies along with the first Minions film. Minions and The Secret Life of Pets writer Brian Lynch is penning the script. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri will produce Minions 3 alongside The Super Mario Bros. Movie EP Bill Ryan.
Minions 3 will be released in theaters on June 30, 2027, while Despicable Me 4 can currently be seen in theaters.
