“It’s not in my place to talk about”: Hidetaka Miyazaki Delivers Disheartening Bloodborne 2 Update with No Resolution in Sight

“It’s not in my place to talk about”: Hidetaka Miyazaki Has an Upsetting Bloodborne 2 Update That Might Not Get Resolved Anytime Soon

FromSoftware is riding high on the success of Elden Ring nowadays, and gamers everywhere cannot help but appreciate how much work they put into their first open-world foray. But one thing gamers appreciate even more than Elden Ring is their PlayStation-exclusive horror soulslike title, Bloodborne. That game is still considered one of their best games ever made, yet it has not seen a sequel yet.

Elden Ring celebrated its 2nd anniversary recently, and fans of the game are currently eagerly waiting for its upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. Once that DLC is out, there’s no news on what FromSoftware will do next, but fans have not stopped their pursuit of getting FromSoftware to work on Bloodborne 2, which seems near impossible now!

The Elden Ring and Bloodborne director explains why a sequel is not as easy to develop

When Elden Ring was launched, many fans who had never even played a soulslike title wanted to give it a go. They wanted to know what this game was and where all the hype was coming from. The basis of all that hype was clear by the time people started trying it; turns out FromSoftware had developed a masterpiece.

A masterpiece that was an amalgamation of everything they had worked on before. It combined mechanics from Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild into their massive game.

But fans of FromSoftware were wondering something else altogether: Where is Bloodborne 2? Everyone knows the developer is pretty quick with follow-ups; they made sequels to the Dark Souls series in quick succession. They even developed the DLCs for those games pretty fast.

The only time they took a while before developing a piece of software was when they worked on the DLC for Elden Ring. They have a reason for taking so long with it too; director Hidetaka Miyazaki explained that it is the largest DLC they have created for any game yet.

But when it comes to Bloodborne 2, he has mostly remained quiet. It makes sense too; who talks about some other game when promoting a very hyped upcoming title? Still, a while ago, Hidetaka Miyazaki made it clear that it would be easy to start working on this sequel.

“Unfortunately, and I’ve said this in other interviews, it’s not in my place to talk about Bloodborne specifically. We simply don’t own the IP at FromSoftware. For me personally, it was a great project, and I have a lot of great memories of that game, but we’re not at liberty to speak to it. I’m very sorry about that.”

It makes sense too; if one developer does not have any say in what happens to an IP, they would rather work on something else. It’s up to Sony to decide if fans will ever get their hands on Bloodborne 2. They were the publishers of the first game, and that’s why that game was a PlayStation 4 exclusive too.

that, there hasn’t been a shred of information on the game, its next update, its remake, or a sequel. Whatever comes, the confirmation will come from Sony, not FromSoftware.

With the resurgence of remakes nowadays, it is highly likely Sony will announce a remake or a sequel. Let’s not forget their remake machine. Bluepoint hasn’t announced their next project yet, and it might end up being Bloodborne 2.
