“It’s torture at this point”: Bloodborne PS5 Port Teases Fans, Only to Shatter Their Hopes

The gaming community is unsure whether they should keep hope for a Bloodborne remaster alive or put it to rest.
FromSoftware CEO and game director Hidetaka Miyazaki is open for more Bloodborne despite Sony owning the IP.
Bloodborne is on the short end of the stick when it comes to remaster privileges of PlayStation first-party exclusives.
Bloodborne is an underutilized Soulslike project developed by FromSoftware and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game was made exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console but was stuck on the short end for not receiving the same privileges as other exclusives.

The developers of FromSoftware heavily expressed interest in returning to the franchise and expanding the lore. Unfortunately, Sony Interactive Entertainment is in charge of the IP and gets the final say, and fans have been begging for a remaster for the PS5 but it seems like all hope is lost.

Sony Loves to Give the Bloodborne Community False Hope

Sony was renowned for developing high-quality first-party games during the PlayStation 4 life cycle and even partnered with other gaming studios to create exclusive experiences. Hidetaka Miyazaki partnered with the company for two exclusive games but two were sidelined and never touched since then.

Bloodborne was not the only FromSoftware game to be ignored, now that the PSVR 2 is slowly losing support which is bad news bearers for the Déraciné series. Recent mistakes caught the fans off guard and fans thought a remaster was on the way but ended up disappointed.

Some fans think Sony is intentionally making fun of the gaming community. The company recently announced a new lineup of merchandise inspired by the franchise rather than a remaster.

Other fans became jaded and completely gave up on the possibility of a remaster for the current generation. Perhaps there is a chance of it happening paired with a PC port.

Regardless, the fans are tired of waiting for something that may not happen. Hope can be easily taken once the players feel they are being toyed.

Perhaps Hideaki Nishino will have a change of heart and give the gaming community the remaster they desire and the game deserves. Nishino is a fan and could be the people’s champion.

The PS4 version is playable on the PS5 but seeing other exclusives receive the remaster treatment, eyebrows are raised as to why Sony refuses to give this game the same privilege.

Fans are emotionally exhausted from these events and do not know whether their patience will be rewarded or wasted. Miyazaki believed he caused Sony a great inconvenience by referencing the game in other projects and misleading the fans that a sequel was imminent.

Sequels and remasters are easy cash grabs. Sony could have had a decent haul with a simple 60FPS port or remaster.

The fans of the franchise are victims of false hope yet again. Perhaps there is still a slim chance for a remaster but it is time to put things to rest.
