Rapper L-Tido has hit back at Amapiano producer and musician DJ Maphorisa after he hurled insults at him for the interview he did with musician Sir Trill.

The sit-down took place on the rapper’s podcast, and it was posted on his YouTube channel on 10 July.

They spoke about several topics. L-Tido also asked Sir Trill if he would ever name the “Grootman” he kept complaining about in past live Instagram videos.

“I don’t want to say nothing about nobody because sometimes it gets too dangerous; it might even threaten your life. I still respect that person as an elder. Let me not put your name out there because you know yourself. And it’s not just me who is going through it; others are just scared to say it,” he said in the interview.

Though Sir Trill never mentioned names, Maphorisa took to his X timeline to share proof of payments directed to Tumelo Zwane, Sir Trill’s real name.

“Maybe he is talking about other Grootman’s. This young man needs help. I remember him not going to the music video ya De Mthuda John Wick. I knew we were going to have a problem here. Self-sabotage and karma from all the promoters you fu**ed not pitching those gigs. N F**K L-tido Nya**o san,” he wrote.

L-Tido did not take the insults lying down; he also went for the jugular.

“Phori, you a fuc**n coward Ma**te a gao” I literally didn’t say sh*t about you. Deal with the people you are robbing, not me.”

This comes after Sir Trill claimed that he would not receive payment for his songs featured in local Netflix dramas, as he has “hit a brick wall” in his efforts to collect his earnings.

“That’s when I realised that I had to have a publisher. I went to them, and I was like, ‘What’s going on here?’ They had to go and check, and they were like… ‘this bro took 100% of everything.”
