The Cadillac Escalade is a hugely important vehicle in the luxury marque’s lineup, as well as General Motors as a whole. As Cadillac‘s flagship ICE-powered model, the Escalade represents the pinnacle of Caddy’s engineering prowess and has garnered a strong following and solid sales reputation. With all of that being said, one artist elected to construct a fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade out of paper.
Posted online, this video showcases the artist’s process of building the luxury full-size SUV out of paper. As a 1:3 scale model, the attention to detail is commendable. In fact, the artist built this Escalade model’s frame before attaching the outer bodywork. Indeed, it would be hard to tell that this model is built out of paper without already knowing.
As a reminder, the Escalade is due for a mid-cycle refresh for the upcoming 2025 model year, which will be highlighted by a revised exterior design, which includes a reworked front fascia. In regard to specifics, the new lighting arrangement will feature thin, upper horizontal turn signals and prominent, vertically stacked headlights and daytime running lamps, along with a new dual-level grille design that combines a large trapezoidal upper intake with a slimmer lower piece.
Out back, besides the updated inner taillight cluster graphics, the rear fascia will also boast a slimmer chrome strip below the rear window, a chrome liftgate garnish, and reshaped exhaust outlets.
In regard to the cabin, the interior will be underscored by a full-width, pillar-to-pillar infotainment display similar to that of the all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ and uber-luxurious Cadillac Celestiq.
Under the hood, the refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade will feature a familiar powertrain lineup, including the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. However, the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax will replace the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax for the fresh model year.
Under the body panels, the refreshed Escalade will continue to ride on the GM T1 platform, while production will continue to take place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
