A breaching whale flipping a boat and catapulting two people into the water has been captured on film.
Footage reveals a humpback whale suddenly emerging from the depths and overturning a small 23-foot (7m) vessel. The video shows two individuals plunging into the sea as their boat is upended by the colossal creature.
Colin Yanger, who captured the incident on film, said he was aboard a nearby boat whose crew rescued the pair. According to the US Coast Guard, there were no injuries reported.
The filmer posted the video of the capsizing to Instagram with the caption “*no injuries.”

A different video depicts the overturned hull of the boat protruding from the water, with a caption warning people not to approach the whales too closely.
A third video captures the photographer’s boat successfully flipping the capsized vessel back upright using ropes for towing.
The incident has been relayed to the Center of Coastal Studies Marine Animal Hotline and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Footage of the terrifying moment has since gone viral, with many viewers offering their take on the incident.
Some observers suggested it was to be expected with whales in the area. One X, formerly Twitter, user said: “This my friends is why I don’t go whale watching.”
Another wrote: “That is an angry beast. What is the back story?” While a third observed: “The whale was just playing.”
