Elden Ring fans really want another DLC: Hidetaka Miyazaki HAS to make another Elden Ring DLC

HIGHLIGHTS

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is a hit, but fans want even more.
We’re still left wondering about the Gloam-Eyed Queen and her Godskin Apostles, the original wielders of the Rune of Destined Death.
Many also want to find out more about Godwyn, the first demigod to die. Perhaps one day we’ll get answers, but if Velka and the Sixth Archstone are any indication, we’ll be speculating for years to come.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree answered a lot of questions, delving further into Queen Marika the Eternal’s backstory, unravelling Miquella the Kind’s motives, explaining why Malenia attacked Radahn, revealing the truth of the Greater Will and the Two Fingers, and so much more. But there are a lot of mysteries still left unanswered, ones that fans are hoping to see explored further in a second DLC.

A post boldly stating that Hidetaka Miyazaki “HAS to make another Elden Ring DLC” cites the lack of knowledge we have about the elusive Gloam-Eyed Queen. All we know is that she was an Empyrean chosen by her own Two Fingers as a candidate for godhood. She was the first to hold the Rune of Destined Death and even cradled the Godskin Apostles who still hunt demigods to this day, but Marika’s sworn Shadowbound Beast Mariketh ultimately defeated the Gloam-Eyed Queen and sealed away the rune of Destined Death within his sword.

Many hoped that the expansion would finally pull back the curtain and explain who the Gloam-Eyed Queen is and what became of her, but we’re still left speculating. Miyazaki hasn’t definitively shut the door on an Elden Ring 2, much as he hasn’t completely sworn off the possibility of a Dark Souls 4, but it seems unlikely we’ll find the answers anytime soon. After all, we’re still debating Demon’s Souls’ Sixth Archstone and the god Velka from Dark Souls.

What Fans Want To See More Of From Elden Ring

Other than the Gloam-Eyed Queen, fans want to find out more about the Helphen, described as “the lampwood which guides the dead of the spirit world”. As the Steeple sword tells us, this guiding light is similar in appearance to grace, albeit red, and is only seen by those “who met their death in battle”.

Helphen sounds very similar to the concept of Valhalla, and we even find burning Viking burial ships as ornaments in the Shadow Keep. There’s clearly more to the realm of shadow than we see; is this the “spirit world” in question or are there even more layers to the afterlife?

Others want to venture back in time as we have in past FromSoftware DLC to see what The Lands Between looked like prior to the Shattering, seeing Caelid before it was consumed by rot or even Crumbling Farum Azula before it was… crumbling.

And of course, the first demigod to die, Godwyn, is on the tip of everyone’s tongues. We know very little about him other than his slaying in The Night of Black Knives. But with no DLC on the horizon, we’ll just have to wait and see if FromSoftware continues the story in a sequel.
