A couple with a 20-year age gap have shared the question they are asked the most about their relationship – and have given their online followers an honest answer

“Age is just a number” is a phrase that’s believed by many.

And this is certainly the case when it comes to a couple with a 20-year age gap. The pair, who are based in the US, insist their relationships “works for them” even though people have doubts.

Kris and Hillary even took to TikTok to address some of the most common questions they get about their unconventional love story. The duo, who regularly share snippets of their relationship and RV lifestyle online, were refreshingly honest in their approach.

In the TikTok video, Hillary explained: “We’re an age gap couple, and we have a 20 year age gap difference between the two of us, and we get a lot of questions about our relationship. The number one question being this one, which is ‘do we want to have kids together’.

Kris explained that he already has two sons in their mid 20s who he “loves to death”, but that the “reality” is he doesn’t want to have more kids. He explained: “I’m getting a little bit older and I don’t want kids.”

Meanwhile, Hillary, who is in her mid 30s, explained that she has “never wanted kids before”. She continued: “I used to get that question a lot, people would say ‘well don’t you want to have kids?’, and the answer is no. I’ve never wanted to have kids of my own. I just never had that mum gene. I’m a fur baby mum though and through.”

Hillary acknowledged that this is a question a lot of women face, whether they are in an age gap relationship or not. But she also wanted women to know that for those who don’t want children, there is “nothing wrong with you” and “it’s totally fine”.

She went on to explain: “The relationship between Kris and I is really great. I love his kids and we get along really well. I’m actually closer in age to his kids than I am to Kris, but it works for us.” However, she admitted that it’s incredibly important to have those discussions early in a relationship.

Hillary added: “If you have a big age gap between the two of you, you definitely want to make sure you’re on the same page.”

Hillary and Kris, who met while they were working in the same company, are getting married later this year.
