The Ongoing Berserk Manga Is a Best-Selling Title in America

Hype for Berserk continues to be sky-high, as evidenced by recent U.S. sales data. Behind The Manga just released the new sales data for March 2024, revealing that Dark Horse Comics’ Berserk had the #1 best-selling volume by dollar amount that month. Berserk Deluxe Volume 1 shipped 14.499 units for $49.99 each, grossing around $725k. This was over double My Hero Academia Volume 37 in second place, with $313k, with Berserk Deluxe Volume 2 (Hardcover) completing the podium with $306k. Berserk also doubles as one of the best-selling manga titles in the U.S. annually; an analysis of Circana Bookscan data revealed that the series placed fifth, behind Jujutsu Kaisen in fourth and Spy x Family in third.
Dark Horse Comics has translated 41 out of the total 42 Berserk volumes as of writing. The series is officially described: “His name is Guts, the Black Swordsman, a feared warrior spoken of only in whispers. Bearer of a gigantic sword, an iron hand, and the scars of countless battles and tortures, his flesh is also indelibly marked with The Brand, an unholy symbol that draws the forces of darkness to him and dooms him as their sacrifice. But Guts won’t take his fate lying down; he’ll cut a crimson swath of carnage through the ranks of the damned – and anyone else foolish enough to oppose him! Accompanied by Puck the Elf, more an annoyance than a companion, Guts relentlessly follows a dark, bloodstained path that leads only to death…or vengeance.”
