Due to the nature of the Berserk franchise, the following content includes discussion of and external links to a piece of merchandise that contains explicit and violent imagery.
Berserk is one of the most popular manga franchises of all time, and it’s also one of the darkest. Now, fans can own a recreation of one of the series’ most brutal moments.
A new statue by Prime 1 Studio takes the art of legendary manga creator Kentaro Miura and turns it into a harrowing statue. Featuring main characters Guts and Casca, this Berserk merchandise is explicit in its depiction of an iconic scene but depressingly epic. Now available for pre-order, the statue is perfect for any fan’s chilling collection — provided they can afford to purchase such a highly detailed piece.
Berserk Fans Can Now Pre-Order the Darkest Guts & Casca Collectible Yet

Based on the infamous cover of Volume 13 of the Berserk manga, the new statue by Prime 1 Studio is a saddening sight to behold. As with the cover it’s based on, the statue showcases a defeated yet angry Guts as he holds the ravaged body of his beloved Casca. Held in his right hand is a broken version of Guts’ iconic Dragon-Slayer sword, with this and the blood running down his form illustrating the doom and the gloom of it all. The haunting setting is also featured along the statue’s base, with a dreadful claw and demonic eyes and mouths just some of the unsettling details. It can even shine via LED, creating a desolate light that’s anything but illuminating.
There’s also a bonus reward through the Prime 1 Studio website: a Hand of the Void with a bloody hook (showcasing the Brand of Sacrifice) jutting from its palm. The statues are made of polystone, standing at 72 cm x 79 cm x 71 cm and 26 cm x 10 cm x 14 cm, respectively. The 1/4 scale statue can now be pre-ordered by fans, with an expected release schedule between October 2024 and January 2025. Fans will have to cough up quite a bit of cash, however, as the piece costs an eye-watering 329,890 yen (almost US$2,100).

Merchandise for the Infamously Dark Berserk Franchise Is Bigger Than Ever

The Berserk manga by Kentaro Miura began publication in 1989, and over 30 years later, it’s still going strong. With over 42 volumes of collected material, it’s now one of the longest-running and best-selling manga in history, frequently appearing on the New York Times Best-Sellers list. Even though Miura passed away in 2021, his series continues his legacy in multiple mediums. Since the 1990s, there have been multiple animated adaptations of Berserk, with the 1997 series seen as perhaps the best handling of the material in anime form. There are also numerous toys, collectibles and pieces of merchandise, with the Prime 1 Studio statue only the latest of these.
Other recent pieces include figures of Guts as the Black Swordsman, as well Guts’ dark bestial armor. In one way or another, they perfectly depict the extremely dark setting of Berserk. Compared to many of the more popular manga from the same era, Miura’s series is far more graphic; from the art and fight scenes to the topics discussed, it’s far from a mainstream shonen franchise that’s fun for the whole family. Nonetheless, Berserk has managed to maintain popularity with different generations of fans, who may now be slaying their bank accounts to afford the latest collectible.
