Rich Homie Quan’s millions were primarily from his music career

Rich Homie Quan was worth $3.5 million at the time of his untimely death. He earned most of his millions from his successful music career.

But before entering the music industry, Quan was strapped with cash. It forced him to drop out of college and work at an airport. However, he lost his job and turned to burglary, resulting in a 15-month stint in prison.

After that, he turned his life around by pursuing music full-time, and it wasn’t long before his career started taking off.

Rich Homie Quan emerged in the music scene alongside other big-name rappers like Young Thug in the mid-2010s before making an even bigger splash with his Type of Way debut in 2013.

It was an anthem at the time and peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. He also worked with other artists for more chart-topping music, including Rich Gang’s Lifestyle. The track reached the #16 spot on the Hot 100 and earned over 900 million streams in the US, per Luminate.

In 2015, Rich Homie Quan released another chart hit, but this time, it was a solo success for the Atlanta Rapper. His Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh) went to #12 on the Hot 100 list and earned over 600 million US streams.

To date, Billboard reports that the rapper’s catalog has compiled 3.34 billion streams in the US per Luminate. More recently, Quan independently released Authentic and Ah’chi (with 2 Chainz).

In addition to his own music career, Quan also started his record label Rich Homie Entertainment. Partnering with Troy Carter and Venice Music for the label is another business venture that allowed him to increase his wealth.

The Atlanta rapper also revealed that he had another way of getting some income. Quan revealed to Trapital’s Dan Runcie in 2020 that he made “a million plus” in the lucrative real estate industry.

He said that the revenue came from flipping houses, selling his first home, and his rental properties in Georgia.
