Reggae pop band UB40 has canceled its concert at the California State Fair due to “an unexpected illness.”

The band, whose hit songs include “Red Red Wine” and “Kingston Town,” was slated to take the Golden 1 stage on July 28., the closing day of the fair.

“Ali Campbell, the lead vocalist of UB40, has unfortunately fallen ill,” fair officials said in a Tuesday news release, and canceled the band’s upcoming tour of the United States.

“Everyone who purchased tickets are automatically getting a refund,” the release
said. The fair said it would announce information about a replacement performer soon.

WHAT ARE CONCERT TICKET PRICES AT CAL EXPO?

General admission to the Toyota Concert Series is included with your fair admission ticket, according to the fair’s website. Guests can line up at the back of the stage venue starting at 5 p.m. for first-come, first-served seating in the free area behind general admission.

This seating is limited to the first 700 guests.

Reserved seats are available and start at $28.50.
