GM design team releases Cadillac Sollei concept sketches: It’s all about a good looking C-Pillar…..

Earlier this week, Cadillac unveiled the new Sollei concept, a two-door drop-top variant of the Cadillac Celestiq boasting top-shelf amenities, cutting-edge technology, and a few old-school callbacks as well. Indeed, the Cadillac Sollei is quite the piece of design, and is certainly worthy of closer examination. Now, we’re getting a look at the concept sketches that preceded the final product.

The design sketches were posted to social media by the GM Design Instagram feed (@generalmotorsdesign) and include a look at the exterior and interior of the new concept. Checking out the pictures, it appears as though the final product is more or less in line with the original idea, taking the roof off the Celestiq sedan, deleting two of the doors, and restyling the rear end.

Interestingly, the Cadillac Sollei concept drawings show the convertible with the top down and the top up. The roof is finished in a silver-gold color that plays well with the rest of the body panels, the latter of which are covered in a paint called Manila Cream, which is a factory option that Cadillac offered between 1957 and 1958. Other notable design elements include large chrome wheels, while the lower sections of the exterior are finished in black, enhancing the elegant shape with a streamlined appearance.

appearance.

The Cadillac Sollei design images also provide a glimpse of the interior design scheme, which incorporates unstained wood veneers and open-pore finishes, as well as aluminum trim and Fine Mycelium materials on various surfaces. Other materials include Fine Nappa leather with a pink pigment. The interior features a 2+2 seating arrangement, with a large 55-inch screen mounted on the dash up front, and a smaller infotainment screen in the rear.

All in all, this two-door is quite the looker, no matter the angle.
