Popular Amapiano star and deejay, DJ Maphorisa, said he couldn’t get to his booked shows in Cape Town due to a delay in his flight.

The 36-year-old said he would make it up to his fans and they would make arrangements with promoters for new dates. The Makhe hitmaker released a statement under his record label, Lawk Communications, apologising to his fans on Saturday, 20 July.

“To my Easteern Cape fans: Due to circumstances out of my and the promoters’ control, I was unable to travel to East London/Mthatha, for the events scheduled at SoWhat Lounge & Vegas Bar and Eatery on the 20th of July 2024.

“The flight back from Port Elizabeth this afternoon with FlySafair flight FA363 was delayed and as a result, we could not make it on time for our next flight.”We explored all available options to make sure we make it to the gigs but unfortunately, we were unsuccessful.

“However, my team together with the promoters will work on a new performance date,” the statement read.

The musician also thanked his fans for their continued support. He said he was hoping to see them soon. The musician rose to stardom after producing several hit singles for artists of multiple music genres, such as Uhuru’s Y-Tjukuta, Kwesta’s Ngud, and Shekinah’s hit Suited.
