Adele’s luxurious performance wardrobe is as well-known as her soaring hits. Still, the superstar isn’t lounging around in Givenchy couture and custom Gucci dresses on her off days. In New York this week working on a secret project, she’s been spotted heading to and from the recording studio in designer looks that speak to her love of statement outerwear. Case in point? Last night in the West Village with actor friends Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge, Adele stepped out in a tie-dye parka from R13. Complete with the Owsley Stanley-designed lightening skull logo, The Grateful Dead tribute coat made for a rockstar-worthy street style moment as she entered Italian restaurant Via Carota.
Separately, the outfits were appealing but together they represented a fresh direction for Adele. Casual and modern while paying homage to her musical roots, both looks were exactly the right choice for the ever-evolving diva.
