Joining them at FIM Capitol Theatre is band Fastest Land Animal (FLA)
UB40, the world’s most successful reggae band of all time, is bringing their legendary Red, Red Wine Tour to the FIM Capitol Theatre in downtown Flint on Friday, July 12. The globetrotting tour is a celebration of the iconic band’s 45th anniversary album, UB45.
The tour is set to run through mid-August, stopping in Flint at FIM Capitol Theatre on Friday, July 12, at 8 p.m.
The group, originally formed in Birmingham, England, chose their band name in reference to a government-issued form in the UK – UB40 stood for Unemployment Benefit, Form 40. Now, the reggae/pop/multi-cultural band has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. With more than 50 UK Top 40 singles and 10 UK Top 10 albums, the group has been recording and touring since 1978.
“We’re excited to get back to the States again for our third year in a row, as we love coming to America,” said UB40 guitarist Robin Campbell. “We can’t wait to play songs from our new album that we’re so very proud of… When you play songs over so many years, the arrangements and vocals evolve and change. These updated versions of our hits are still close to the originals, but now reflect how we perform them today and they sound better than ever.”
The critically acclaimed, Grammy-nominated band officially kicked off their summer 2024 U.S. tour on July 2, treating their devoted audiences to their extensive catalog of global hits and international smash singles like “Red, Red Wine,” “Food for Thought,” “(I Can’t Help) Falling in Love with You,” along with songs from their new catalog featured on UB45, (which was released worldwide on April 19).
Joining UB40 onstage at FIM Capitol Theatre will be Fastest Land Animal (FLA), a trio of equally committed (and possibly crazed) kindred spirits. Their slick, yet sharp style continues to captivate a growing fan base with nearly 10 million YouTube views and counting, critical acclaim, and more.
