Berserk Gets a Surprisingly Adorable New Release of Its Most Divisive Villain

One of the most iconic antagonists in manga and anime, Griffith is also one of the most well-known parts of the Berserk franchise. Now, the easily recognizable character is receiving a deviously cute figure from a popular toy line.

The new Griffith Nendoroid figure by Good Smile Company perfectly portrays the legendary villain. Armored and carrying a sword, it’s the ultimate companion to the line’s previously released Guts figure. Now available for pre-order in North America, fans can get their hands on an adorable take on a despicable character.

Standing at just under 4″ in height, the Griffith Nendoroid figure is diminutive but full of character. Casting the character’s long locks and smug demeanor in plastic form, the paperweight oozes the sort of style and grace seen by the character in the Kentaro Miura Berserk manga. Clad in his armor, Griffith comes with his iconic saber, which can be held in his hand or placed into its sheath. On top of that, Griffith has two interchangeable faces, allowing the figure to display both his normal dour demeanor and a sideways glance.

Good Smile Company and the Nendoroid line have already produced a Guts figure based on the protagonist of Berserk. Thus, fans can go ahead and pre-order their accompanying Griffith figure to display the two deadly rivals on their desks or shelves. Griffith currently retails for $43.99 before tax on the Good Smile Company U.S. website, but those seeking to join the Band of the Hawk will have to wait a while to get him. According to its current release schedule, the Nendoroid collectible won’t be released until Q3 2025, causing fans to go “berserk” as they wait another year.

Berserk receives a new official watch collaboration inspired by fated rivals Guts and Griffith, whose dichotomy is among the most acclaimed in manga.

Berserk’s Griffith Is One of the Most Brutal Anime Villains of All Time

Griffith stands in front of a hawk in the Berserk manga.

The main antagonist of the Berserk manga and anime, Griffith is as synonymous with the series as Guts and Casca. A man determined to fulfill his dream of ruling his own kingdom, he opposes anyone in his path and even subjugates Guts after initially defeating him. Later taking on the name Femto, he commits further vile acts against Guts and Casca, with one of these moments culminating in one of the saddest scenes in Berserk. Although his almost feminine beauty might suggest otherwise, he’s an incredibly accomplished fighter who stops at nothing to achieve his goals.

The Berserk manga has been running since 1989, with the series being a bestseller both in Japan and the West. It’s also received multiple animated adaptations that bring certain parts of the manga to life. These have increased Griffith’s dastardly popularity, with the villain seen as both one of the best and one of the most evil anime antagonists ever. His most harrowing moments throughout the story of Berserk have also cemented it as a particularly dark story, giving the series a noticeable edge compared to other popular anime and manga properties.
